A 26' Thunderbird class fixed keel yacht, built by Fred Wrobel in Sydney in 1960. Photos shows Thurnderbird on the hard stand at Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron undergoing restoration. |
Originally built by Warren Pitstock and Mick Rock. First raced in 1967 which puts WP111 into Group "O" historic racing cars for the purpose of historic racing. I restored the car and first raced it at Wakefield Park NSW then all race tracks from Lakeside in Queensland to Mallala in South Australia. WP111 held the lap record for Group O racing at Lakeside and won the Phil Irving Trophy at Winton in Victoria. Powered by a Holden six (186 red motor) with triple 45mm weber carburetors all 200HP driving through a VW tunnel box transaxle. The body molds are Lotus 22 with a flared Ferrari-like nose. |
